Precambrian Time Era
The Precambrian time era started when the earth was first made, and started because of earth's creation. The first time period of the Precambrian time era is the Archean time period. Since this time era happened so long ago, it is hard to tell what the environment was like. Scientists do believe that it was somewhat like an ice age in some areas of the world during the end of this time period. They also believe that the atmosphere was very oxygen-rich, and that there was plenty of oceans and volcanoes around the Earth.
Life appeared in the Precambrian time sometime around 3.4 million B.C. The first organisms were to believed as microscopic bacteria. But the bacteria grew, and since the oxygen byproduct that the cells released found its way into the atmosphere, Earth was able to sustain more complex life forms towards the end of the Precambrian time era. These life forms included types of sponges, jellyfish, and shelled organisms. The environment during the end of the Precambrian time was rapidly changing. It moved from an icy terrain to a tropical place then back to an icy terrain again. Only the animals that could adapt to the changes survived and thrived during the Precambrian time era.
The Precambrian Era is thought to have ended around 543 B.C. It takes up about 88% of our Earth's history! The Precambrian time is a section in our earth's history that is the biggest, and should never be forgotten. This time era holds the first time that life is recorded on Earth and is the first time era in all of Earth's history. The Precambrian time era is now over, and after it comes the Paleozoic time era.
